Learn To Trade Futures | Commodities Futures Trading Course

Many that hear about futures for the first time, immediately have heard of the two extremes that either attracts them for the wrong reasons or dissuades them.

If you learn to trade futures correctly it can bring you a vehicle that brings in extremely high returns. Even average and conservative returns trading futures are higher than what most people are used to seeing.

It isn’t uncommon to see gains of 100% or higher. But even if you receive a "measly 25% on your money, that’s still higher than most investing vehicles can return.

So the two extremes that so many people talk about, is exactly the two emotions that drives the futures market…fear and greed.

People who believe futures is risky business, probably have a healthy dose of fear when thinking about how much you can lose trading futures. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing because it makes you realize that nothing is easy and you have to work at bringing good returns even with trading futures.

However, to take it to extreme, I believe, is taking out of context. As you have now seen in this recession, real estate values are falling and falling hard and fast. Stock prices have had the worse returns in history. The economy in the United States has tinkered on a state of the 1930’s depression.

So although futures is and can be risky, when used correctly, it can help your portfolio balance out to a more stablizing portfolio. As we’ve seen in 2008 and now in 2009, the futures market isnt’ the only investment vehicle that you can lose a lot of money in.

The other emotion of course is greed. At that is what attracts most, because they either want to become wealthy, quit their jobs that they hate, need income because they lost a job or whatever else.

I actually that is great! I’m all for everyone prospering and bettering themselves financially because it will help our economy become more balanced.

But again, don’t be fooled by taking the extreme measure of thinking that futures trading is easy, because it isn’t. It’s probably one of the hardest things that I’ve ever had to work at. It can also be very frustrating as you can know everything about trading (which no one does) and still get creamed by the marketplace.

The thing to remember when you first start trading is trade slow and adhere to strict money management rules as you learn to trade futures. There is nothing like getting totally jacked up about something and then come to find that you can no longer do it because you didnt’ know what you were doing in the first place.
